McAleer’s Office Furniture Co., Inc. was founded on March 5, 1979 by Jim and Camilla McAleer. While working with his brother in the construction industry, Jim noticed a need in Mobile for a store that sold only office furniture, not supplies. His goal was straight forward – provide the best quality office furniture at the lowest possible price. Being a natural born entrepreneur, Jim mortgaged the house and started his own business. Since then, McAleer’s has successfully established itself in the Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL communities, and thanks to their loyal customers, have been going strong now for over 40 Years!

In March of 2022, Jim & Camilla’s daughter, Melissa Cross, became the company’s new owner and plans to continue the McAleer legacy. Melissa opened McAleer’s newest showroom, located in Foley, AL, in February 2023. This new showroom will help McAleer’s better meet the needs of their Baldwin County customers.
Jim can now enjoy his much deserved retirement, their 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
