As we have previously stated, we love Mid-Century furniture.  So when this vintage HON credenza came to us on a Used Furniture shipment, we knew it would make a great DIY project.  It had a great Mid-Century design and sleek drawer pulls, all it needed was a little paint and some love.

Since the credenza is laminate we purchased Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer.  It sticks to all surfaces and doesn’t require sanding.  We then purchased Rust-oleum latex paint in White Semi-Gloss and Metallic Gold Spray paint.

We put two coats of primer and two coats of paint on all the drawers and doors, but decided to leave the rest of the credenza that beautiful walnut.  It is important to let the primer fully dry, otherwise the it will clump when you try to add the paint.  The drawer pulls and feet were sprayed with two coats of spray paint.  We even found some black plastic grommet covers and spray painted them as well for a finished look.

The project only took about an hour to do, if you don’t include the dry time, and it made a huge difference.  What do you think?
