McAleer’s Office Furniture Co., Inc. was founded on March 5, 1979 by Jim and Camilla McAleer. While working with his brother in the construction industry, Jim noticed a need in Mobile for a store that sold only office furniture, not supplies. His goal was straight forward – provide the best quality office furniture at the lowest possible price. Being a natural born entrepreneur, Jim mortgaged the house and started his own business. Since then, McAleer’s has successfully established itself in the Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL communities, and thanks to their loyal customers, have been going strong now for over 43 Years!

In the last nine years, two of Jim & Camilla’s seven children have become involved in the business, to continue the McAleer legacy. On the 43rd Anniversary it became a second generation family business when their daughter, Melissa Cross, became the new owner. Jim can now enjoy his much deserved retirement, his 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
