Tips for taking a great Messy Desk Selfie

McAleer’s Office Furniture has a long history of holding Messy Desks contests, but this year we decided to take it up a notch with some amazing prizes and a modern twist.  We want to see your Messy Desk Selfie!  A search for “selfie” on Google or social media sites will yield millions of photos.  However, sometimes it can be difficult to take a flattering photo of yourself while also holding the camera.  Here are some “selfie” posing tips and suggestions on how to take a creative #messydeskselfie that will impress the voters.

Tip#1 – A selfie doesn’t have to be of your face

When you think of a selfie, you immediately think of a photo of a person’s face. But the truth is, a selfie is any picture of you, taken by you.  So, if you are camera shy or want to remain anonymous, you don’t have to show your face in the picture.  Why not take a photo of your feet?  Especially if you have on cute shoes!

Tip# 2 – Do something interesting or comedic

Take a picture of you engaging in a fun activity or wearing a mask like this staff member did.  If the Queen of England can selfie, so can you!

Tip# 3 – Accessorize

Throw on a hat, don a wig, or wear sunglasses.  The more accessories the better!  They will also help draw attention to your photo.

Tip# 4 – Express Yourself

Smile! Frown. Pout. Or make a silly face (But no, not the duck face!).

Tip# 5 – Take A Group Selfie (or photobomb!)

Include your coworkers.  Celebrities are doing it, so why not you!  This is a great way to get everyone in the office involved.
